let's find our mantra and fill our repertoire -continuation of #TakeOnFallWithConfidence

A mantra, A prayer, A Quote

Post it up! Read it every day! Let it be a catalyst to your mindset!

Hey ladies! Welcome back!

I hope your October is starting out amazing! Go ahead and grab your beverage of choice, for me you know it will always be a warm cinnamon swirl blend of sweetness!

So this week I want to touch on the subject have having a mantra or a quote or verse or prayer to hold one to! I love motivational quotes and sayings and speeches and books and short videos but after I read it or listen to it or watch it, it doesn’t always stay and show up when you could use that text bubble to pop up in capital letters and shout at you and tell you how you should respond in that very situation when your emotions or anxiety is all knotted up and our emotions end up taking control and getting yourself into some sticky situations and if you are like me you become more upset at yourself for not staying in control and logically/ rationally handling the situation the right way or the Christian way or the educated way.

So when I was younger I would write on my mirror in my room with a dry eraser and put a motivational statement on it. It did help me stay positive for most of the day. I wish I had a picture to show you.

I also loved to carry a keychain with a heartwarming saying to calm me when I was out. I ended up with a very heavy key chain and sadly I would just collect them, and I stopped using them for inspiration and just wanted to collect them!

So instead I decided to pick a few and write them down and put them everywhere but I didn’t stop there I assigned each quote or verse with a job and spot in my life where that statement was going to be a tool or armor towards something that I was battling with.

Then I made it a point to memorize them and say them out loud repeatedly throughout the day! So when I started to doubt myself I would have these mantras or quotes or verses to repeat to myself as a little pumped up pep talk!

And I would recommend that once you start no matter how crazy you think you sound or look or feel to not stop.

*Don’t give up on yourself *

My method is

1. Find your mantra

2. Find your song or playlist and put it on repeat

3. Listen to a encouraging podcast on a consistent schedule

4. Do something even if it small to make your health a priority

5. Every day look into the mirror and smile at yourself because it is important to be a true friend to yourself not just to other people around you.

6. Do something kind for someone from a selfless motive ( Does that make sense?)

7. Try not to complain for a whole day or hour or minute eventually you will have gone a whole week, than a month without complaining and you will feel shocked at your own ability.

8. Write and share with someone 5 – 10 things that you are grateful for in your life and keep it recorded in a journal

I know I only have 8 steps to my method. Does it bother you that it isn’t a complete 10 step process? It would make me wonder.

I would like yawl to comment down below two steps that you think could complete this list!

Down below is a list of ideas to start adding to your own repertoire. I hope you can find your mantra in this list or just some ideas from my motivation Pinterest board

The Lothes Lounge’s name came from the phrase “your home should be a haven to your family”. My home wasn’t always a haven, but I meet some incredible women growing up who opened their home to me and allowed it to become my haven. So here I am opening The Lothes Lounge to your heart as a haven for when you need it.
